Riding a Horse Into a Wall Like Flies on Rice

One Hundred Pictures by Kyōsai (暁斎百図, Kyōsai Hyakuzu) - Plate 20
In this print, Kyōsai shows a rider crashing his horse into a wall — likened to flies swarming onto rice. The grotesque metaphor mocks rash resolve and unthinking momentum: as flies converging on rice, the rider heads obliviously toward disaster.
